The presentation was led by Luiz Roberto Baggio , Director of the Organization of Cooperatives of the State of Paraná (Ocepar) and Coordinator of the Advisory Council of the agricultural sector for the Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives (OCB), and Ursina Leguizamón, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Paraguay.

Baggio provided an overview of the sector and its structure as he explained that there are currently 6,586 cooperatives working regularly in Brazi, which are responsible for generating more than 320,000 jobs of which over 50% are related to agribusiness.

In 2012 the cooperatives sector of the state of Paraná reached its economic record by generating 38 billion reais and being responsible for 56 percent of the State's agricultural GDP, according to the Ocepar. Likewise, the cooperative sector plans to invest 2 billion reais in 2013, particularly on projects related to agro-industrialization , infrastruture and logistics.
