After a thorough analysis of the logistics situation in Brazil, Fayet aimed to the north region of the country as the solution to alleviate the southern ports and routes while also boosting the production competitiveness.
Fayet considered that the northern region's transportation can be done through the Panama Channel, which is the gateway to Asia through the Pacific Ocean. He also stressed the world’s dependence on Brazilian food, a fact that puts pressure on the country and pushes it to rapidly develop more efficient logistics.
Fayet's idea was bashed by the other speaker, Nilson Hanke Camargo, who recalled that technology is a tool that can also be used by other nations to supply the world’s food needs, thus minimizing dependence on Brazilian food.
