You've been following the innovations we've recently launched. Content innovations, such as the partnership with new columnists and the expansion of our team in Brasilia; and technology, such as the new version of our site, equipped with geolocation and a social experience tool. We thus seek to serve you better and better, following more and more closely your own work dynamics and information habits.
But if we change in several ways, we want, on the other hand, to reaffirm our loyalty to the convictions that have brought us here. And in this game between change and permanence, between love of the new and fidelity to the essential, the Gazeta do Povo publishes - which is new - a set of texts that explain in a somewhat more systematic way our view of the world, which is our immutable DNA. You, dear reader, now have at hand a summary of the ideas that guide our assessments of the main events of everyday life.
Honesty promotes trust and we would like our readers to be sure that these convictions drive our work.
We hope you enjoy learning about these ideas. They matter to us and we believe that opening our hearts in this way can intensify the friendship and respect between you and us. Do not worry if you do not agree with them. It is natural that we have points of divergence. Is this not the case, even among friends, in a plural society like ours? This eventual disagreement will not be a reason for us not to talk, but rather a stimulus to an enriching mutual exchange, which we wish with the publication of these texts. You can be sure that we will always strive to exhibit them in a respectful way - respecting also, on the other hand, those who think differently.
Maybe some texts are a little dense and more difficult than usual. Forgive us. It was not easy to summarize in a few pages ideas that have so many developments. But this is a first version. We will always strive to make them simpler and clearer.
Just to give you an overview of what we are going to present, we can organize these texts into three groups. In the first, we talk about what we think about man and his destiny; in the second, about society, the common good and the organizations that arise within it; in the third, about the State, its role and its relations with citizens.
We hope to provide a better service to you. Honesty promotes trust and we would like our readers to be sure that these convictions drive our work and that we really strive to be continuously coherent.
Happy reading!
