Any food item impossible to find in common supermarkets, it will be found on the Municipal Market of Curitiba. It is exactly the variety of fruits, vegetables, beverages, canned foods and candies that makes the Market gets crowded on weekends. There is always someone looking for an exotic ingredient or simply enjoying a walk (after all, there are many things to look).

The 72 thousands products for sale fill the eyes of those who walk through the Market’s crowded aisles. The Market was 50 years old in 2008 and now a reform of expansion is undergoing. The food court was temporarily moved. In 2009, the Market gained a specific organic food sector, which has 22 stores.

Also, there are fishmongers, butchery, pasta’s house, flowers shops, pet shops, fish tanks, hairdressing salon, drugstores, shoes’ stores and newsstands.

Watch out: at Saturdays and Sundays, the local traffic gets slower due to the crowd. There are some bus options that stop in front of the Market. If you prefer to go by car, it’s possible to park at the nearby streets or on private parking lots.
